What are Tiffinware.com’s products made of?
Tiffinware.com has three hand crafted product ranges:

Silver plate products are an alloy of brass (copper and zinc) and nickel (a white metal, resistant to corrosion), also known as German silver. They are then electro-plated with 3 micron silver and embellished with glass beads.
Stainless steel or Inox - "inoxydable" (stainless) steel is an ideal material for making cutlery, as it is very durable, does not rust, corrode or stain. Tiffinware Inox - ‘With a Twist’ products are made from the highest quality 18/10 stainless steel, these products will retain their bright sheen without too much care.

Enamelled stainless steel. Enamel is glass crushed to a powder, painted on to stainless steel, (J4/202 or 18/1 with 1% nickel) and then heated to melt the enamel, fusing it to the metal. Enameled items can be fragile, in that they can chip or crack if dropped on to hard surfaces, handled carefully they are very durable and remain colourful and bright.

Are Tiffinware.com’s products made in factories?
Definitely not, each piece is hand crafted by our artisans, that way no two pieces are ever alike, your purchase would be  unique as our products undergo a series of grinding, buffing, plating and polishing techniques, and variations or ‘imperfections’ in the finish are a characteristic to each piece being individually created.

How do I care for my Tiffinware?
Tiffinware does need love and care and is definitely not dishwasher friendly so please avoid harsh detergents, acidic agents or steel wool, scouring pads or toxic dips. The glass beads are fairly robust, but will chip is handled roughly. Soaking first is not recommended.

Just hand wash in warm soapy water with a soft sponge or cloth and dry your silver plated pieces with a soft cloth as leaving them to air-dry may leave stubborn watermarks.

Silver plate: Silver and silver plated items become dull and oxidise when they come into contact with oxygen and pollution in the atmosphere. We designed the pouches  to avoid extensive tarnishing, please store your delicious purchases in them. Use a silver polishing cloth to keep your Tiffinware shiny and bright rather than silver polish which may reduce the life of the silver plate.
Stainless steel:  Hand wash in warm soapy water and dry immediately. For water marks use a branded stainless steel cream, these readily available in most large supermarkets, and polish with a soft cloth

Enamelware: hand wash in warm soapy water and dry immediately.

How will my Tiffinware purchase be presented?
Each Tiffinware product is designed with its own bespoke gift packaging – so you receive a gift.

Is it safe to order online?
We use Paypal for your debit and credit card payment processing.
All transaction information passes from the Tiffinware.com site to the Paypal Service. Rest assured in the knowledge that any information offered to Paypal cannot be examined by us, used or modified by us or any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.

What if the item I want is out of stock?
That would be a blow! We would tell you immediately its back in stock. It could take up to 4-6 weeks for items to be restocked due to their hand-made nature; we are continually in production so it could be faster.

What if I break a glass bead or lose a part - can I purchase a replacement?
Not a problem, at all. Email us with your order number (if available) and details of your lovely Tiffinware with the glass bead colour, if possible. Better still email a photo of the product with any beads left intact. In the event that its the long bead, please describe it and we will try to send the correct colour or part, if available.

We cannot guarantee the glass beads colour will be exactly the same as the original. The beads are handcrafted, and colour lots do differ slightly due to the handmade nature of these products.
We can re-order some parts but cannot guarantee replacements if the item purchased is quite old. There may be a small charge for replacement if we have to make a new one.

Can I order an extra set of beads?
Yes, of course, you can purchase an extra set of beads, in fact as many extra sets as you like. We do advise you do so, especially if you're fond of the colours you have chosen as the same colours many not be available later on

What's even more fun is you can change the look of your lovely purchase by buying sets of the same beads or other colours, take a look at this video.

Ensure you specify the item your extra beads are for!
A full set of beads cost £2.50 plus P+P – for details see delivery options.

As we are only human, we do try, wherever possible to ensure all Tiffinware items are stamped or etched with the initials “RC” on the stem of cutlery, or on the base of larger items. At busy times it can be  (very seldom) overlooked, apologies in advance!

Enameled stainless steel. Powdered glass is mixed with a an opaque or semi-transparent glass-like resin, and applied to stainless steel. The coated piece is heated, melting the enamel, fusing it to the metal. Enamel is delicate and could chip or crack if dropped on a hard surface. Enamelled pieces are durable when handled carefully.

Do you charge for gift wrapping per item or per delivery of a number of items? It is dependent on what you purchase. Multiple pieces of the same product i.e 8 cake forks, packed into one box and delivered to 1 address, would be charged as one gift packaging at £3.50.
If you purchase a number of  non-cutlery items to be delivered to one address all gift wrapped we would endeavour to reduce the packaging to 1 box containing the smaller gift-wrapped items. If you have any specific requirements, please email hello@tiffinware.com in advance of placing your order.

I hope these have been helpful and all your questions have been answered, if not, write to us at hello@tiffinware.com.
